MINIMUM ENERGY HOUSE

COLLOMBEY - VS

Construction of a wooden house

This house is located in the Rhône valley. It’s shape and composition is inspired, by the old tobacco sheds that once could be found in the region. The front faces the Dents du Midi mountains. A concrete wall acts as a heat accumulator and as an earthquake stabilizing element in the living room, while the construction is built in wood. The facades are covered with vertically placed rough sawn larch boards. The house has received the Minergie label thanks to heat production by wood heating and double-flow ventilation.
