Remodeling of an 18th century farm

This old farm is located at the top of a magnificent meadow facing the Dents-du-Midi. The structure of original layout was maintained. The front part, initially the complete living space of the inhabitants, is now the sleeping area. The backspace, originally for hay and animals, has been transformed into large and open luminous spaces for the kitchen and 2 living rooms. An exposed concrete extension completes the composition. It houses a yoga room and the terrace. The adjoining small chalet has been transformed into a small outbuilding, with a bedroom upstairs and a bathroom on the ground floor. The walls and the roof are insulated with hemp. The roof is covered with larch shingles.
